Why I started to blog

Remembering memories

I never want to lose the small stuff. The random meal that turned into the best part of a trip, the walk that wasn’t planned, the nights out with my partner and friends that felt like nothing at the time but end up being what I remember most. I wanted a place to actually hold onto those moments instead of letting them fade the way memories do when you don’t write them down.

Sharing and helping out others

Planning trips is honestly one of my favorite parts of traveling. I love building itineraries, figuring out the best route through a city, the timing, what to eat and when. I wanted somewhere to share that with other people too, not just keep it to myself. If something I put together can influence someone else’s trip or give them an idea they wouldn’t have thought of, that’s exactly what I’m hoping for. Optimization to see the most I can with the limited time I have is one of my favorite things to do!

Being able to recall places and give honest reviews

There are so many places, meals, and restaurants I’ve been to that I want to be able to look back on and actually remember clearly. Not just “it was good” but the real details. It also makes it so much easier to recommend things to friends or tell a story without digging way back into my memory trying to piece it together.

Helping myself for future travels

Knowing what I liked and didn’t like matters more than I used to think. Having it written down means I’m more prepared the next time I’m planning a trip, whether that’s a city I’m going back to or just applying what I learned somewhere new.

Meet Andy

That’s me on the left, with Satenik. Thankfully my job helps keeps me financially balanced which is what lets us travel as much as we do and work our way through as many different restaurants to be chuds. When I’m not traveling or eating I’m usually playing video games, card games, or planning and building something new. This is how the itineraries building came about and got me hooked. Being able to spend an insane amount of time of planning and looking up activities tickled my brain a little bit. This isn’t a job or a side gig for me; it’s a fun way to share what we are up to with friends, family, and anyone it might inspire. I’m using it to learn about myself and to see how I end up changing post by post.
